George Terry's Management Function

All students on management school is the management expert would know this one. He is mentioned as the father of scientific management or management. George R. Terry gives sumbangsi rationale underlying many management experts in the world. Even management lessons to high school in Indonesia was put on the management theory of Terry to be taught to students.

Terry defines management in his book Principles of Management is "a process that distinguishes the planning, organizing, mobilizing and monitoring by utilizing both the science and art of demmi achieve predetermined goals." From this definition we can see that Terry management functions according to him. Here is a management function by Terry:

1. Planning (planning) is the objectives and rationale for the preparation of the steps that will be used to achieve the goal. Planning means preparing all the needs, carefully calculate what the pitfalls are, and formulate shape bermaksuud specific activities to achieve goals.
2. Organizing (organization) that as a way to bring people together and put them with the skill and expertise in the work that has been planned.
3. Mobilization (actuating) is to move the organization to run in accordance with the division of labor for each other and move all available resources within the organization that performed the work or activity can proceed according to plan and be reaching the destination.
4. Supervision (controlling) is to monitor whether the movement of these organizations are in accordance with the plan or not. And supervising the use of resources within the organization to be used effectively and efficiently without being deviated from the plan.

The nature of the management functions of Terry's what is planned, it is to be achieved. So that the planning should be done as possible so that the implementation process can run smoothly and any shortcomings can be overcome. Before we do the planning, it helps formulate the first goal to be achieved.
